Timeline

  1. 1250Thang Long · Red River DeltaTran Thai Tong appointed Le Tan as imperial censor lieutenant-general and concurrently commissioner of the Three Offices, entering the ranks of senior civil and military officials at court. This is the earliest recorded entry in his official career, marking his rise from a local gentry family of Ai Chau into the core power circle of the Tran dynasty and laying the foundation for his later achievements against the Mongols.
  2. 1241–1249Ai Chau · Thanh Hoa ProvinceLe Hoach's ancestral home was Ai Chau, and he was a descendant of Le Hoan of the Earlier Le dynasty; his father Le Kham had served as senior general of Kuang State. Before receiving office in 1250, he must have accumulated military merit and reputation in the Tran army; though the histories do not detail this period, his rapid promotion to imperial censor lieutenant-general shows he had already gained Thai Tong's trust.
