Timeline
- 1224Bianjing · BianjingXuanzong died in January 1224, and his third son Shouxu, already made crown prince in 1216, succeeded him. The assassination of King Shao of Wei occurred in 1213 and is unrelated to this accession. The accession took place at Bianjing after the capital's relocation, not at the Jin Central Capital.
- 1224Bianjing · BianjingAizong changed the era name to Zhengda and attempted to rectify the maladministration of Xuanzong's reign: halting the war against the Southern Song, making peace with Western Xia, dismissing corrupt officials, and promoting generals who resisted the Mongols. The opened English Wikipedia did not list specific dates for battles such as Qingyang or Dachangyuan, so they are not written here. Mongol pressure did not relent; after the defeat at Sanfeng Mountain in 1232, Bianjing was besieged, Aizong fled, and Jin fell at Caizhou in 1234.
