Timeline
- 1303Moscow · Grand Principality of MoscowAfter Grand Prince Daniel died in 1303, Yury inherited the Principality of Moscow. At this time the Tver Mikhail family was also active at the Golden Horde court, and competition among the Rus' principalities over the title 'Grand Prince of Vladimir' and the khan's favor grew increasingly intense.
- 1304Sarai · Golden HordeIn 1304 Yury traveled to Sarai to pay homage to Khan Tokhta, married his sister Konchaka, and received a yarlik (decree) granting the title 'Grand Prince of Vladimir'. This made Moscow nominally supreme over the Rus' principalities for the first time, but Tver immediately lodged objections with the khan's court.
- 1305–1310Moscow · Grand Principality of MoscowIn 1305 Mikhail Yaroslavich again won the khan's support and recovered the title Grand Prince of Vladimir, and Yury withdrew to Moscow. Between 1307 and 1310 the two sides repeatedly clashed on the border and petitioned the khan's court; Dmitry Mikhailovich governed in Tver, while Yury continued to develop Moscow and awaited the opportunities brought by the next change of khan.
