  2. 1173Alanya region · TranscaucasiaUnder George III, Georgian forces successfully resisted Ildegiz's attack, forcing the Seljuk coalition to retreat. After this setback, Ildegiz died at Nakhchivan in 1174, and the balance of power on the Georgian-Seljuk frontier shifted again.
