Drowning of William Adelin
On November 25, 1120 CE, English heir and Duke of Normandy William Adelin drowned in the White Ship disaster, aged only seventeen.

- 1120English Channel off Barfleur · NormandyWilliam Adelin, after his marriage and helping his father pacify the French-Norman frontier, was lost while returning to England aboard the White Ship from Barfleur. He could have escaped but turned back to save his half-sister Matilda Fitzroy, and went down with a large number of courtiers.
