1. 1294Dadu · North ChinaAfter Kublai's death, the court conducted the funeral according to ancestral custom. Temür, as the imperial grandson who had received the Crown Prince's seal, became the most legitimate heir with the support of princes and ministers; princes such as Nayan also declared their allegiance.
2. 1294Dadu imperial palace · North ChinaTemür ascended the throne on jiawu in the intercalary third month of Zhiyuan 31, taking the temple name Chengzong. After accession he posthumously honored his father Zhenjin with the temple name Yuzong, and worked to stabilize the situation through a general amnesty and fiscal reforms, only changing the era name in the Dade period.
