  1. 1077–1090Székesfehérvár · Kingdom of HungaryAfter defeating the son of his rival Géza I in 1077 he took the throne and quelled noble rebellions. He campaigned repeatedly against the Cumans, pushing his power into Transylvania and intervening in the Croatian succession dispute, laying the foundation for Hungary's expansion into Eastern Europe.
  2. 1091–1110Varaždin · Crown of CroatiaBetween 1091 and 1095 he completed the key campaigns of the Croatian conquest and died in July 1095. Veneration of him as a saint spread rapidly after his death, and his image as a 'warrior king' became a symbol of Hungarian national identity. Between 1101 and 1110 Coloman continued his Croatian and Dalmatian policies, which can be seen as a continuation of Ladislaus's political legacy.
