Wonjong (1219–1274) was the 24th king of Goryeo, enthroned in 1260 with Yuan support, making Goryeo a vassal state of the Yuan dynasty.
Timeline

He ascended the throne in June 1260, entering Kaesong escorted by 3,000 Yuan troops, ending the remnants of the Choi military regime, submitting as a vassal to the Yuan, and making Goryeo a tributary state. Thereafter he maintained a fragile balance between Ganghwa Island and Mongol demands to return the capital.
- 1269–1270Ganghwa Island · Ganghwa CountyIn 1269 the military strongman Lin Yan launched a coup, deposing Wonjong and installing his brother Prince Anjeong Wang Chang (Yeongjong). Kublai Khan dispatched 3,000 Yuan troops to intervene, and Lin Yan was forced to restore Wonjong to the throne. Wonjong then worked to weaken the Lin clan's power, laying groundwork for the 1270 return of the capital to Kaesong and the Sambyeolcho Rebellion.
