Timeline
- c. 797–798Lhasa (Lhoka) · Tibetan EmpireSecond son of Trisong Detsen (his elder brother Mu-khri Tsenpo died young). He succeeded around 797 after his father retired. The Ba Annals (Ba Zhag) records that he insisted on Buddhist rather than Bon rites for his father's funeral; Shagpa and others report that he thrice tried to divide land and property equally, all in vain.
- c. 798–799Tibetan royal court · Tibetan EmpireMost accounts give a reign of about one year and seven months. Buton's History of Buddhism and others say his mother, of the Tsepong clan, poisoned Muné out of jealousy for his wife. The successor is usually recorded as his younger brother Tride Tsugtsen (Sadnalegs); the view splitting Mu-de Tsenpo and Sadnalegs into two persons is regarded by English Wikipedia as a scribal error.
