Timeline
- 1110Achuhu City · HeilongjiangWanyan Aguda gathered the leaders of the Jurchen tribes at Achuhu and declared himself emperor, taking the dynastic name Great Jin and the era name Shouguo (the formal era name may have been promulgated slightly later). The Jurchens thereby passed from a tributary tribal confederation to an independent dynasty, and the Liao court's suzerainty system suffered a fundamental challenge.
- 1110–1112Huining (Achuhu) · HeilongjiangAfter founding the state, Aguda established offices, promulgated institutions, halted tribute to the Liao, and trained and armed his forces. The Jin made Huining its capital and gradually advanced into Liao territory, laying the political and military groundwork for the subsequent battles of Ningjiangzhou and Chuhedian and the war that destroyed the Liao.
