Timeline
- 1052–1060Tanjavur · IndiaAfter Rajadhiraja I fell at Koppam (around present-day Koppal in Karnataka), Rajendra Chola II declared himself successor on the battlefield and turned the tide of battle. He had served as co-ruler since 1044. During his reign he continued fighting the Western Chalukya Someshvara I and established garrisons in Sri Lanka to suppress rebellions.
- 1063Tanjavur · IndiaStandard chronologies place his reign to 1063, with death year sometimes given as 1064 (at the capital Gangai konda Cholapuram). The successor was his brother Virarajendra — not a separate person called 'Rajendradeva', as that name was Rajendra Chola II's own title.
