1. 184Julu · HebeiZhang Jue preached the Way of Great Peace for over ten years, establishing thirty-six divisions and agreeing to rise simultaneously on the fifth day of the third month. Betrayed by an informer, he was forced to launch the uprising early, in the second month.
2. 184Qing, Xu, You, Ji and other provinces · ChinaUnder the slogan 'The Blue Heaven is dead, the Yellow Heaven shall rise,' Yellow Turban forces responded everywhere, capturing commanderies and counties. The Eastern Han court was shaken, ordering suppression everywhere and lifting the partisan prohibition to rally support.
3. 184Guangzong · HebeiHuangfu Song, Zhu Jun, and others led forces to encircle and destroy the rebels; Zhang Jue died of illness, Zhang Liang fell in battle, Guangzong was taken, and the Yellow Turban main force was annihilated. Remnant bands persisted for years but could no longer pose a major threat.
