Timeline
- 1020–1025Prague · BohemiaSince taking power in 1012, Duke Oldřich gradually shook off dependence on Poland and consolidated Přemyslid family rule in Prague. In the 1020s he promoted church building, curtailed the power of local counts, and trained his eldest son Břetislav in military and political affairs, raising the duchy's degree of centralization.
- 1025–1029Moravia · MoraviaAfter the death of Polish King Bolesław I in 1025, Bohemia took advantage of Mieszko II's succession crisis to expand its eastern influence, strengthening its control over Moravia and other areas. Bohemia and Emperor Conrad II of the Holy Roman Empire reached a certain tacit understanding to jointly check Poland's revival, and the Přemyslid dynasty's regional standing rose markedly.
