  1. 1321–1313Dadu · North ChinaYao Sui had served in the Hanlin Academy and the Directorate of Education early in his career; by the early 1320s he had retired or was semi-retired, still exchanging poems with scholars in Dadu and Jiangnan, editing classical prose pieces, and instructing younger students. His style was pure and elegant, and together with Yu Ji and Jie Xisi he represented the peak of Yuan literature.
