Timeline

The heavy labor and corrupt officials led Han Shantong and Liu Futong of Yingzhou to rise under the Red Turban banner, fully intensifying the Yuan court's crisis.
- 1352–1353Xuzhou · JiangsuToqto'a formed units such as the 'Yellow-Head Army' and captured Xuzhou on the sixth day of the tenth month of Zhizheng 12, killing Red Turban leader Peng Da. Around Zhizheng 13 Red Turban forces across the Central Plains were badly hit and nearly extinguished, but Zhang Shicheng and other warlords along the canal still threatened Dadu's grain route.
- 1354–1356Gaoyou · JiangsuFrom Zhizheng 14 he besieged Zhang Shicheng at Gaoyou. Hama and others repeatedly memorialized against him for 'wasting troops and treasure'; in the twelfth month the Shun Emperor stripped him of military command and banished him to Yunnan. He left camp as ordered and the siege collapsed; the following first month he was ordered to die en route to exile, and the Yuan central military never recovered.
