  2. 1574–1595Constantinople · Ottoman EmpireAfter accession he launched prolonged wars against the Safavids and Austria, campaigning continuously in Hungary and the Caucasus in the 1590s; court culture flourished but the financial burden was heavy, with grand vizier Koca Sinan Pasha and other senior officials directing military and civil affairs under him.
