  2. 1333–1336Kaesŏng · Korean PeninsulaGoryeo had to perform New Year congratulations, tribute, and the reception of Yuan envoys according to Yuan custom, and bear the burdens of shipbuilding, military-agricultural colonies, and postal relays left over from the failed expeditions against Japan. The Yuan's fiscal deterioration late in the dynasty intensified levies, deepening domestic Goryeo resentment of the 'serving Yuan' policy.
