Timeline
- 1181–1184Bengal Delta · BengalIn the early 1180s the Sena king's control over local governors and temple lands weakened, and the efficiency of tax collection and military mobilization declined. After conquering Punjab, the Ghurid forces from the northwest grew ever more aggressive in their eastward advance, while the Senas were incapable of organizing effective alliances or reforms. The dynasty's cultural legacy survived, but its political and military capacity was no longer sufficient to maintain its status as an independent power.
