Timeline
- 1374–1375Sis · TurkeyLeon V of the Lusignan dynasty ascended the throne of Cilician Armenia, hoping that his Catholic faith would win military aid from Western Europe against the Mamluks. - 1375Sis · CiliciaSultan Sha'ban ordered the complete conquest of Cilician Armenia and its incorporation into Egypt. Egyptian forces set out from Cairo, joined the Levantine garrison at Aleppo, and captured Armenian cities in succession, finally taking the capital Sis on April 13, 1375. King Leon V was captured together with his wife and family.
- 1375–1380Cairo · EgyptLeon V was taken to Cairo for a triumphal parade and imprisoned in Egypt for about five years. With the fall of the Kingdom of Cilician Armenia, Latin Christian rule in the Levantine interior came to an end. The remaining forces were only the Kingdom of Cyprus (badly weakened by Genoa in 1373), the Knights Hospitaller on Rhodes, and a few Aegean strongholds; the Mamluks' southern flank was thus secured.
