  1. 1380–1395Fez · MoroccoRaised in the palace as a son of Sultan Ahmad, he witnessed the Marinid kings contending for the throne and was gradually drawn into the succession struggles.
  2. 1396–1397Marrakesh · MoroccoIn 1396 he took the throne with factional support, but his rule lasted only about a year before he was overthrown by his uncle Muhammad IV, then deposed and blinded, marking further fragmentation of Marinid royal power.
  3. 1397–1399Morocco · MoroccoAfter his deposition he was imprisoned and blinded, dying around 1399; his brief reign epitomizes the frequent changes of throne in the late Marinid period.
