  1. 1168–1170Jin Zhongdu · ZhongduBorn in 1168 at Zhongdu, son of Crown Prince Wanyan Yungong and grandson of the Jin Shizong emperor; he lived in the inner palace as a child and received an imperial-clan education.
  2. 1185–1208Jin Zhongdu · ZhongduAfter his father's death in 1185 he was made crown grandson; after Shizong's death in 1189 he succeeded, changing the era name to Mingchang, continuing sinicization and strengthening central authority—a ruler renowned for flourishing civil governance in the late Jin.
