- 1515Border east of Lake Van · West AsiaIn 1515 neither side launched large-scale battles along the eastern Anatolian border, and sporadic clashes decreased. Selim focused on Syria and Egypt, while the Safavids concentrated on consolidating internal affairs and the eastern frontier, forming a de facto military truce.
- 1515–1516Aleppo · SyriaThe eastern truce allowed Selim I to redeploy his main forces toward Syria, clearing the rear for the 1516 conquest of Damascus and the Mamluk Sultanate. Though the Safavids were not formally granted recognized borders, they were in no position to halt Ottoman southward expansion in the short term.
