Timeline

  1. 1120–1122Eastern Yunnan · YunnanIn 1119 the Mu Ning, Yuan, Yi, Po, Ma and other Bo (Bo) clans and the Thirty-Seven Tribes of eastern Yunnan rebelled; Duan Zhengyan sent an army which was defeated, Shanchan fell, and its defender Gao Mingqing was killed in battle. Gao Liangcheng, nephew of Gao Taiming, moved his forces east to pacify the rebellion, was made chancellor by the ministers with the title Duke of China, and began integrating the eastern Yunnan frontier. This pacification work continued into the early 1120s.
  2. 1123–1125Shanchan · YunnanAfter taking the regency, Gao Liangcheng rebuilt Shanchan's defense system, using Gao-family power to guard the gateway of eastern Yunnan and suppressing the remnants of the Bo and Wuman tribes. Dali continued a policy combining loose control and military suppression toward the Thirty-Seven Tribes of eastern Yunnan; frontier control remained fragile but was temporarily stable.
  3. 1126Yangjumi · YunnanIn the fifth month of the first year of Jingkang, a great fire broke out in the Dali capital Yangjumi, burning 3,900 residences. This disaster, intertwined with lingering frontier unrest, Gao-family dictatorial power, and the waning of the Duan royal house, foreshadowed the political crisis of internal strife and external rebellion among Dali's princes in later years, though the Bo clans launched no further large-scale rebellion.
