Timeline

  1. 1503Akhsi (Fergana) · FerganaYunus Khan had already died in 1487 and was not the one who died in 1503. In 1503, the eastern khan Ahmad Alaq of the Turfan region and the western khan Mahmud of the Tashkent region, seeking to check Shaybani's westward advance into Fergana, were surprised and routed by Muhammad Shaybani's forces near Akhsi; the brothers were captured and later released. Timurid Babur was also in the allied army and fled south to the mountains after the defeat. This battle left Uzbek forces dominant in Transoxiana.
  2. 1504Aksu · AksuShortly after his release, Ahmad died at Aksu in January–February 1504 (one account says 1503). His eldest son Mansur succeeded as eastern khan, ruling Turfan, Hami, and the Aksu region; western areas such as Kashgar remained largely under the control of Dughlat emirs. Yunus Khan himself had died in the west back in 1487 and must not be dated as dying on the northern slopes of the Tianshan in 1503.
