Timeline
- 1285Margat · SyriaQalawun besieged the Hospitaller fortress of Margat on April 17, 1285; after mining and blowing up a salient in the south wall, the garrison surrendered to Fahd al-Din on May 23, and Qalawun entered the city two days later, allowing the knights to withdraw with whatever possessions they could carry and leaving a Mamluk garrison to repair the castle.
- 1287Latakia · SyriaIn 1287 Qalawun captured the port of Latakia, further squeezing the coastal supply lines of the County of Tripoli. The city of Antioch had already fallen to Baybars in 1268, so it should not be described as 'weakening the existing defenses of the Principality of Antioch.'
