Timeline
- 1340–1342Athens-Thebes · Central GreeceIn the early 1340s, Catalan vicars continued to rule Athens and Thebes in the name of the Kings of Aragon and Sicily. The reconquest war launched by Walter of Brienne's son in 1331-1332 had been thoroughly crushed; in the early 1340s the duchy was relatively stable, with almogàvar military colonies coexisting with the old Frankish nobility, though internal factions and Venetian maritime competition persisted.
- 1343–1347Neopatras (Thessaly) · ThessalyIn the mid-1340s, the Catalans extended their influence inland from Neopatras into Thessaly, maintaining complex vassal relationships with local Greek magnates such as Gabrielopoulos of Trikala and the Maliasenos family. The duchy controlled key fortresses through military garrisons and feudal fiefs but failed to fully unify Thessaly.
- 1348–1349Thessaly · ThessalyIn 1348 Serbian Tsar Stefan Dušan advanced south on a large scale, conquering most of Thessaly and causing the loss of many Catalan strongholds in the north and center. Neopatras and its surroundings remained held by the Catalan vicars, but by the late 1340s the duchy's territory had visibly contracted, foreshadowing conflicts with Venice and the Navarrese Company in the 1360s-1380s and the Florentine capture of Athens in 1388.
